Ed Himelblau is a biology professor at California Polytechnic State University. Ed is also a cartoonist for The New Yorker and other publications. (See his cartoons at himelblau.com and @himelblog.)Â Ed lives in San Luis Obispo, California with his wife and daughter. He received the Cal Poly Distinguished Teacher Award in 2018. Since 2005, he has taught a class for incoming graduate students who are teaching for the first time.
